A Telos Zephyr is an ISDN codec device which allows you to link your studio to another studio, anywhere in the world, that also uses ISDN.  ISDN stands for Integrated Services Digital Network.  It is a digital telephone line that lets you make a HiFi telephone call to another studio with compatible ISDN equipment.  Codec means "Code-Decode", and the job of a codec is to take the sound of your voice, and encode the audio into a digital data stream, which is decoded at the other end and turned back into sound.  A voiceover talent needs to have ISDN service if an agent or client requires it in order to work with them.
